Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years old to use Ekmilan. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older. We verify age at registration and reserve the right to terminate any account found to belong to a minor. If you believe a minor is using our platform, please report it immediately to support@ekmilan.com.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Ekmilan application ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, you will be notified within the app and required to explicitly accept the updated Terms before continuing to use the Service. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
Eligibility & Account Responsibility
- You must be 18 years of age or older
- You must provide accurate and truthful information during registration
- You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- You may not create more than one account or create an account on behalf of another person
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Post fake, misleading, or impersonating profiles
- Upload photos that do not clearly show your face, or that contain nudity or sexually explicit content
- Include offensive, hateful, abusive, or inappropriate language in your name or About Me / Bio
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users in any way
- Use the Service for commercial solicitation, spam, or fraudulent purposes
- Attempt to access, tamper with, or disrupt our servers or networks
- Share another user's private information without their consent
- Use automated bots, scrapers, or scripts to interact with the Service
Profile Content & Photos
By uploading content to Ekmilan, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display it within the Service for matching and discovery purposes. You retain ownership of your content.
- Profile photos must contain exactly one face — yours
- All photos are screened by automated moderation (Google Vision AI)
- Your About Me / Bio text is screened by automated AI moderation (OpenAI GPT-4o-mini) before being saved — content that is flagged as inappropriate will be rejected
- Your first and last name are checked against a content policy before being saved
- We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms without notice
- Do not upload content that belongs to someone else or that infringes any copyright
Matching & Communication
Ekmilan facilitates introductions between users but makes no guarantees about the quality, safety, or suitability of any match. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users. Exercise caution when sharing personal information or meeting someone in person. Never share financial information with another user.
Location Data
Ekmilan uses your location to show you profiles nearby. Location data is stored and used only for discovery purposes. You can manage location permissions in your device settings at any time. Disabling location access will fall back to your city-level setting.
Phone Number Requirement
A valid mobile phone number is required to use Ekmilan. Your phone number is used to:
- Verify your identity during registration via a one-time passcode (OTP)
- Secure your account and support account recovery
- Prevent fake accounts and abuse of the platform
By providing your phone number, you consent to receive a one-time verification SMS. We do not use your phone number for marketing, share it with other users, or sell it to third parties.
Phone verification is powered by MSG91, a TRAI-compliant SMS service operating in India. OTPs are generated on our servers, expire after 10 minutes, and are single-use.
Verified Profile Badge
Some accounts may display a verified profile badge after completing our live selfie liveness verification flow.
- The badge indicates the account passed liveness verification at the time of verification
- The badge is not a government ID check, criminal background check, or guarantee of future behavior
- Misuse of verification features, impersonation, or fraud may lead to account suspension or termination
⚠ Fraud & Liability Disclaimer
Ekmilan is a platform that facilitates introductions between users. We are not responsible for the conduct, actions, or intentions of any user.
Ekmilan is not liable for:
- Fraud, deception, or misrepresentation by any user, including false identities or misleading profiles
- Financial loss of any kind arising from interactions with other users, including money sent or transferred to another user
- Physical harm, personal injury, or emotional distress resulting from in-person meetings or communications arranged through the platform
- Harassment, abuse, threats, or any illegal acts committed by another user
- Any consequences arising from sharing personal information with other users
Ekmilan uses phone OTP verification and may offer live selfie liveness verification with a profile badge. We do not conduct criminal background checks and cannot guarantee the identity, character, or intentions of any user. All interactions, whether online or in person, are at your own risk.
If you believe you have been defrauded or are in danger, contact your local authorities immediately and report the user to us at support@ekmilan.com.
User Misconduct & Reporting
Every user is personally and solely responsible for their conduct on the platform. The following actions may result in immediate account termination and, where appropriate, reporting to law enforcement authorities:
- Harassment, threats, or abusive language directed at other users
- Fraudulent activity or impersonation
- Sharing explicit, violent, or illegal content
- Attempting to solicit money or financial information from other users
- Any other conduct that violates these Terms or applicable law
To report a user for misconduct, contact us at support@ekmilan.com with details of the incident. We take all reports seriously and investigate promptly.
Safety Guidelines
Your safety matters. We strongly encourage you to follow these guidelines when using Ekmilan:
- Never share financial details — do not share bank account numbers, UPI IDs, credit card details, or send money to anyone you have met on this platform
- Protect your personal information — avoid sharing your home address, workplace, or other sensitive details early in a conversation
- Meet safely — if you decide to meet someone in person, choose a public place and inform a trusted friend or family member
- Trust your instincts — if someone's behaviour seems suspicious or makes you uncomfortable, block and report them immediately
Account Termination
We may suspend or permanently terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in abusive, fraudulent, or illegal behavior
- Attempt to manipulate or exploit the matching system
- Are found to be under 18 years of age
You may delete your account at any time within the app. Deletion is permanent and irreversible. Your profile, photos, interactions, location, and authentication credentials are deleted immediately. A small number of records — safety block identifiers, Terms acceptance logs, and moderation reports — are retained as permitted under applicable law for safety and compliance purposes. Data Protection
Ekmilan takes the security of your personal data seriously. Key protections in place include:
- Your phone number is stored encrypted in our database — never in plaintext
- Profile PII (name and related fields) is protected by per-user encryption keys, ensuring your data is cryptographically destroyed when your account is deleted
- All chat messages are stored encrypted and are inaccessible outside of the application context
- All data in transit uses HTTPS/TLS encryption

Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, and trademarks belonging to Ekmilan are the intellectual property of Ekmilan and may not be copied, modified, or distributed without our written consent.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or that matches will result in any particular outcome. Use of the Service is at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ekmilan shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data or service interruptions
- Personal injury or emotional distress resulting from interactions with other users
- Financial loss arising from transactions or communications between users
- Any harm resulting from offline meetings or encounters arranged through the platform
- Misconduct, fraud, or illegal acts by other users
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount (if any) paid by you to Ekmilan in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
